Can’t see a thread so I thought I’d start one. Yes, it’s unbelievably early, but I noticed Glossybox have already revealed their Advent Calendar contents for this year. Saw this reveal on YouTube this morning:

Have to say it doesn’t wow me, but there’s plenty of time and many more Advent Calendars to come, I’m sure!Grin

Yes, I'm also a bit underwhelmed with that! The inevitable pillow spray and black eyeliner! And most of the make up is really not for me. Ah well, as you say, plenty more to come.

I'm definitely going to get the Holland & Barratt one again as I loved it last year and I'm thinking of getting the John Lewis one too as I have a voucher I can put towards it but I'll see what's in it first.

They glossybox calendar is total meh.

I had the Cult Beauty calendar last year, worth every penny, so I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in it this year.

I'm struggling to think about Advent calendars while still waiting for summer to happenGrinbut will definitely get H&B again as it's brilliant value for money.

Might also get one for January as hope it will help me get through the grimmest month of the year! Maybe the Lumene one which a lot of people liked on here iirc.

I had the Liberty one for 2 years in a row
Kept the empty box
Now buy the Liberty gift with purchase, usually October time, and use that to refill the calendar

I'm struggling to think about Advent calendars while still waiting for summer to happen
I 'm not a fan of Summer but even I'm thinking "Eh?This is meant to beAugust" as I look at the rain.

I bought a couple of knitwear items , to stash away for winter because I know I won't find them when I need them otherwise .

I make a Beauty Advent for DD , each item carefully chosen and put in a little (re-used every night) gift box with a ribbon.
The H&B one was really nice . Some items more suitable for me , but mainly skin/body care that she enjoyed trying .

I don't go for make up but I like reading the Unveiling Threads on MNXmas Grin

Anyone know if M&S is planning one this year ?

Weird - I was just idly thinking about beauty advent calendars the other day!
I usually get 2 (or 3) more budgety ones but this year, I'm wondering about splashing out on a Jo Loves one. Ridiculously expensive at £300, but you get a £115 fragrance of your choice is the attempt to justify it!Smile

Placemarking! Didn't get a beauty advent calendar last year and regretted it. Definitely in the market for one this year!

I usually get the M&S one but they didn't do it last year so I splashed out on the John Lewis advent calendar. I'm so glad I did as it was brilliant! I'll get it again this year I think.

Ooh goody. I loved the threads last year.

I had the look fantastic one which finally turned up on December 14th. When it went astray, I bought the CEW female founders beauty edit and used that plus a few bits from gwps (you were all a very bad influence) to fill an empty calendar from a previous year. I would definitely recommend doing that as the beauty edit was amazing. Unfortunately not an option this year, thanks to brexit. They don't ship to Ireland so I used a reshipper. If I did that now I would have to pay both UK and Irish VAT plus an admin charge☹️.

I also had lumene, which was nice but a bit samey.

I'm still going through last year's stuff and can't see me having it all used up by December. I should be back in the office in September so will be at least wearing make-up and should accelerate my rate of usage.

@Bananaman123- I'm thinking of cult beauty too. It looked good last year. That said, the general, mixed product thread was great. It was fab seeing what people were getting in other calendars. There was a good one that was great.

Hoping I can get a m and s or no7 one for a pressie for my sister, we haven't done presents the last 2 years so I'm going to surprise her with it (haven't seen her since 2019) . Can't think of what I'm excited for look fantastic is out anyway, in Ireland and had awful trouble getting something from them earlier this year

I was just talking about this yesterday with DD (17) when I was wondering how come she had a Charlotte tilbury lip gloss. It’s really useful having someone who you can palm off on the bits that don’t suit you! I had Liberty last year and loved it - such a treat for those dark and dull days. Not sure if I will do it again this year - have tried M&S and JL in the past, and might rotate between them. Although Cult Beauty also sounds good.

@Jinglebells21-waiting on look fantastic now

I would be very wary of Look Fantastic. Loads of people never got theirs last year. Mine arrived Dec 14th. While mine turned up eventually, most of the UK people whose calendar went astray never got them at all.

The Liberty one sounds interesting. Could those who’ve had it say something about what it contained? Also, does Charlotte Tilbury do one? I have only started using their stuff this year.

Fortnum & Mason one is available now to order.

I'm hoping to get a Liberty one this year, the actual calendar is by far the prettiest looking one.

Fortnum & Mason one is available now to order.

Another one that won't ship to Ireland post-brexit. Very frustrating.

Liberty does look pretty. I'm thinking of going a bit more up market this year than previously. So maybe Cult Beauty or even something like the Liberty one.

I had Space NK and Rituals last year. Rituals was nice to try and the calendar was beautiful but I probably won't bother again. Space NK was great, I haven't used everything (mainly the tanning products cos I've not been anywhere) but I've repurchased quite a few things. I had ASOS calendars before Space NK and it definitely felt like a step up in quality, although I do think the ASOS one has been good for the price.

Having just had a huge bathroom cull, I will not be engaging this year - most of what I got rid of was advent calendar productsGrin

I would maybe go for M&S if they do one

I'd have to check H&B is different from last year.

LF was good but I know quite a few people had issues with it taking a long time to be delivered ie well into December in some cases!

Holland and Barrett one is great value and I might get it again this year. Last year I got Lumene, the products were excellent but a single brand calendar is a little dull. This year I'm hoping the Space NK one is as exciting as last year as that looked great.
