I have no idea of what costume to get DD for the school party. I don't even like the idea of schools having parties for Halloween during school hours.
She isn't into Halloween but I know she will say she is too old for the typical old witch costume so all ideas welcome.

What kind of things is she in to?are you making it or are you buying?
Spied ·18/10/2019 09:51
Lots around.
Vampiress?
Zombie cheerleaders?
Our tk Maxx has a good selection of more unusual costumes.
DD (almost 9) likes the dragon hoody dress.

Definitely buying, no good at sewing.
She's very sporty and has never really played with dolls. So not a girly girl.

Zombie cheerleader sounds interesting.
那么,我在哪里可以找到最便宜的服装?我在网上看到的一些人超过15英镑,不想花费超过10英镑。

Or a cat? Black t shirt and leggings, some drawn on whiskers and a set like this

Zombie schoolgirl. There are costumes available to buy, but you could cut up a school shirt and add some fake blood if you were feeling creative.
MTBMummy ·18/10/2019 09:57
DD (almost 10) is going as a zombie dancer from a music video, basically some leggings, vest shirt and skirt clothes and makeup to look dead.
OrangeSamphire ·18/10/2019 09:59
H&M have some cool hoodies in at the moment which are Halloween themed. DD just got one yesterday. She will wear it with leggings and some zombie make up. She’s also 10.

Wilko had a zombie cheerleader outfit that looks sporty and not too girly.£9 I think.
Could be worn with leggings or over sporty bottoms.

You don't have to be able to sew to make a zombie costume. Take a pair of scissors to old clothes to make them ragged, use paint or make up for dirt and blood smears. Dark makeup around the eyes, some smeared red lipstick for blood, back comb hair to make it look messy, if you've got dry shampoo spray in liberally to give a dusty look.

Ghost?
A plain white sheet and a white pillowcase.
Make a hole in the centre of the sheet and add some elastic to keep it round her neck. Put eye holes in the pillowcase and tuck into the sheet.
If you can't sew just use tape, the kind you use to keep dressings on would probably work.
I suppose she is a bit young for Rocky Horror? I once went to a RH show in Pyjamas with some disney mouse ears.

Does it have to be 'spooky'? Mine want to go as an astronaut thanks to NASAs first all female space walk!

Lots of DD's are dressing up as 80's ladies bright leg warmers hair accessories etc.
DD is dressing up as a goth. All between 10 and 11.

Wilco has some Halloween costumes in, and one (just one, in the girls section) isn’t a dress, but is a glittery skeleton all-in-one. If she’s up for wearing one from the boys section (I know my dd gets teased for that) the there’s more choice (scary surgeon, scary skeleton).

I got a zombie cheerleader outfit off amazon for £10. Can't paste a link from the app but this is the description:
Smiffys Children's Zombie Cheerleader Costume, Blood Stained Dress & Pom Poms, Colour: Red & Black, Size: Medium, 43023

Ds and his friends are dressing up as musical theatre characters. He's going as Elder Price, his friend as Jeremy from Be More Chill, I'm guessing there will be a couple of dead Heather Chandlers too. I suggested Beetlejuice but that would involve spending money.

Mythological or 'scary' creatures?
Get her a unicorn headband, a brightly coloured wig and fabric strips 'tail' pinned to some glittery clothes. Lots of glittery or rainbow accessories too.
Mermaid? Shimmery clothes again, get a long skirt and gather at the mid-calves with a bit of sewn elastic hemming, seashell themed accessories.
Something spidery - black clothing, fake white cobwebs all over, big fake spider in the hair? Rubber snakes here and there?
Proseccoinamug ·18/10/2019 17:39
Does she like Harry Potter? We don’t like Halloween but have compromised with dd dressing up as Hermione.
AnyFucker ·18/10/2019 17:43
B and M have some decent stuff
8mileeminem ·21/10/2019 15:23
My daughter (10) has just had the Maleficent Halloween outfit from Asda for £16. She's wearing it for Halloween and a spooky show they are doing at school .
BertieBotts ·21/10/2019 15:36
Hermione from HP is a nice easy one. DS1 tends to be Harry.
